LEI0107 - Floral Design
Course Description
See what is possible with a floral design! A wide range of possibilities, materials, and techniques are shown for each workshop. You do not need specific skills as we will create designs with “low effort-High impact!” The focus of these workshops will be to transform the norm of traditional floral arrangements into designs that bring the WOW! Everyone will create and take home their arrangement and learn how to make an impact with fresh and preservable arrangements! With grocery store flowers ranging from *40.00 for a dozen roses to upwards of 100.00 for arrangements, learn the skills to turn every day into the extraordinary! Workshops are offered to coincide with the upcoming seasons and holidays to add fun to the festivities! Bring your creations to someone as a gift, sign up with friends, or show them off in your own home! (cost examples from Mariano’s). The instructor will email students a week before the workshop with details of what we will create. Materials for all workshops will be provided! In addition, the instructor will suggest any relevant additional materials if students are interested in providing alternatives. So bring yourself and leave with something beautiful!
Moss Wall Panel, Feb Floral Design (LEI0107 – 022)
During February, live flower costs can be sky-high! It’s an excellent time to take a break from traditional arrangements and create something with a lasting impact for every season. Bring some green into your home during these cold months by creating a preserved moss wall panel. Preserved moss stays green, so there is no need for maintenance! Create two 12x12 or one 24 x 24 board using a variety of mosses (sizes may vary depending on availability at the time of workshop).

Terrariums (LEI0107 – 018)
Have fun building a micro-landscape terrarium! You’ll be amazed at how creative they can be. Bring in a container of your choice- a cylinder, a fishbowl, or even a deep tray. I’ll email students with links to container ideas before class. You’ll be able to use various materials in your terrarium and learn tips for creating vertical landscapes. You supply the container; the instructor brings everything else!

Waxed Bulbs and Eggshell Candles (LEI0107 – 019)
Sometimes, the most creative ideas are the most straightforward designs. In this workshop, you will encase spring bulbs in wax for a beautiful and creative floral arrangement. Next, we will be creating eggshell candles. These two simple but elegant designs will bring something inventive to your spring décor.

With warmer weather and wedding season approaching, learn some fun, imaginative mini-floral arrangements to use on dining tables, scattered around buffets, or cocktail areas. These are perfect for small get-togethers, gifts, showers, and brightening your space!

Mother’s Day Inspired Flowers (LEI0107 – 016)
Bring Mom to class or make her a gift! Today’s floral inspiration comes from the beauty of the past. We’ll have an assortment of vessels to choose from to create our arrangements: teapots, vintage china, cake stands, wine glasses, and more. Choose from what the instructor brings in, or bring your own inspired container to create a beautiful gift for Mom or yourself!

Anna Roller Hess holds an AA in Commercial Fashion Photography from Ohio Institute of Photography & Technology, a BFA from Bowling Green State University, Studying in Florence Italy at SACI, and an MAT from Chicago State University.
