Course Description

Throughout its history, art has been used as an accessible tool for artists to communicate their views and raise an awareness about political and social justice issues. From paintings, to performance, to graffiti, to murals; artists have used their art forms as a source of activism to promote a social change. In this lecture course, students will learn about various artists who created work that inspired a dialogue within their communities about issues throughout the world.
