Course Description

Turn your lived experiences into inspired and share-worthy pieces of creative writing. Through experiments with form, discussion of readings, workshop opportunities, and writer’s-block-busting prompts, students will grow their creative writing toolkit, and develop the confidence to create imaginative, powerful, and engaging writing that takes its origins in lived experience. Students may bring poetry, prose, and stories they’ve been working on/thinking about, or you can come without a project in mind and build a new piece of writing during the course. At the end of the course, students will be given instruction and resources as to how and where they might publish or otherwise showcase their work.

While this course is best suited to new and beginning writers, the only real requirement is to come as you are, ready to play, take risks, be bold, tell stories, get inspired, discover, and create.
