Course Description

This course teaches you how to write a well-structured second and third draft with compelling sub-plots and twists. You'll find problems, cut dialogue scenes that do not move your story forward, and find your voice and the heart of your script. You'll also learn how to self-analyze your script and apply what you've learned to analyze industry commercial movies. Students should have basic computer skills.

The instructor Virginia Bailey is an independent film/video writer, producer, and director, and author of children's literature, including softcover, eBooks, and audiobooks. She also teaches Introduction to Screenwriting, and Introduction to Podcasting.

Testimonials

Taking this class was worth my journey into screenplay writing. I always had a passion for writing but never could figure out if it was for books or a screenplay until I took this class for Parts 1 and 2. Virginia Bailey is a fantastic teacher. She showed me things I would have never learned on my own. She guided us all in the right direction. I had to stop and listen to what she was pointing out, and when I did, I started to see my work come to life. If it were not for her putting out this class, I would have been lost through the process of writing my first screenplay. I am thankful for her help, and I hope for part 3 of her class.  - Ciara
