Course Description

This Digital Badge introduces game design and development, focusing on the use of games beyond entertainment. You’ll explore video and analog games, learning key mechanics, design processes, and how to collaborate with game developers. Complete the badge to gain foundational skills in game design, with access to two courses: Introduction and Intermediate Video Game Design.

About Your Instructors

Moses Wolfenstein is an experienced game designer and speaker at national game design conferences.  He is a Senior Interaction Developer at the University of Wisconsin-Extension. He has over a decade of design experience.  Moses holds a PhD from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and works with the Games, Learning, & Society research group.

Jean Haefner holds degrees in Graphic Design and Photography, and a MFA in Web Designand Interactive Media; MS Haefner has taught in these areas, and worked professionally as a Content Artist, Web Designer, and Online Course Developer for over 20 years. More recently, she helped to develop the award winning interdisciplinary Game Design and Development program at the University of Wisconsin-Stout, and provided instruction in art and design for games there. She currently works at UW-Madison.
