Piano Pleasure, Group Beginning Adults

Course Description

This class is designed for students with little or no previous piano lessons. Students will use the Alfred Piano 101 for Beginners (book 1) to focus on music notation, staff note reading, rhythms, finger exercises, and playing short songs in various styles. Those with previous piano experience will expand on previously learned concepts and focus on advancing staff reading with key signatures, playing with both hands simultaneously, scale and chord techniques, and playing music in a broader range of styles. Students will advance through the Piano 101, Book 1 by Lancaster and Refrow, published by Alfred. Instruction includes group activities and individual attention in our state of the art Yamaha Clavinova keyboard lab.
