Course Description


In this course, the student becomes acquainted with what is involved with a typical multitrack recording session. The recording of differing styles of music is discussed and applied with hands on instruction. Students participate in class recording sessions where they gain real experience in recording live and electronic music. Microphone techniques are explored in detail, along with session procedures, overdubs, and techniques for recording a variety of instruments and vocals. Prerequisite Sound Recording I or equivalent experience. The text, Modern Recording Techniques (Eighth edition) by Huber and Runstein  is used in each of the recording classes.
