Get ready to unleash your creativity and embark on an exciting storytelling journey in a course designed specifically for young aspiring writers. Over the course of two weeks, you will dive deep into the art of screenwriting, learning the essential techniques that make stories captivating and memorable. So get ready to create a fantastic story like a real Hollywood screenwriter! Becasue in this fun, story-boosting workshop, you’ll explore the secrets of story-development and the unique process that makes screenplays engaging and unforgettable. You’ll learn how this story-building “magic” helps you stay focused on your core inspiration and keeps the momentum to write full-steam-ahead into an extraordinary tale. Throughout these two weeks, you’ll team up with fellow creative writers to craft every part of your story, from unique characters and their relationships to exciting plots, conflicts, settings, and goals. By the end of this course, you will have a strong foundation for launching and completing your big cinematic adventure!
This workshop is designed to be both educational and fun, featuring a mix of interactive lessons, group discussions, and hands-on writing activities. You will engage in:

In this interactive workshop, you will explore the secrets of Story Development, a unique process that empowers you to craft engaging screenplays. You will discover how to harness your core inspirations and transform them into compelling narratives. With a focus on collaboration, you will work in teams to develop every aspect of your stories, including:

Terrie Hayes, is a Chicago-based Screenwriter, Story Developer, and Filmmaker. She draws inspiration from her muse, Norman Rockwell, to infuse her family and romantic dramas with humor, heart, and wholesomeness. Her stories often feature exceptional talents, nostalgic time travel, relational mending and reconnection, and supernatural whimsy. With a strong passion for Story Development, Terrie’s teaching focuses on Story Theory, Concept, Crafting, and Intention. She firmly believes that all writers can enhance their storytelling skills by exploring personal motivations and by mastering the essential, act-by-act building blocks utilized by professionals. Terrie holds an MFA in Screenwriting and Television, an MA in Creative Writing and Screenwriting, and a BA in Cinema Art and Science from Columbia College Chicago (magna cum laude).
