Course Description
In our rapidly evolving media landscape, distinguishing fact from fiction has become increasingly challenging. In each session, we'll dive into current news stories, applying proven techniques to assess their veracity. You will use the news literacy toolbox, developed by the Illinois Press Association’s News Literacy/ Civic Engagement Project, to frame your analysis. You'll leave each meeting with enhanced critical thinking skills and a deeper understanding of the modern media landscape.
Prior enrollment in the Deconstructing the News course is recommended but not required.
