Course Description

After long periods of selflessly providing care for others in need, cumulative grief and trauma can wear us down. This two-session course touches on themes of compassion fatigue and chronic sorrow while focusing on renewing the spirit and moving toward resiliency, hopefulness, and skillful coping with our difficult circumstances. The instructor has extensive social services experience helping hospitalized patients and loved ones facing life-threatening illnesses, and has trained hundreds of hospital staff on these topics. He also has profound personal experience as a full-time caregiver for his dying partner.
