Course Description

Neuland is a capitals-only, chunky lettering style based on an almost 100-year old typeface by German calligrapher, Rudolf Koch. This class will update and upcycle this type for use in modern hand-lettering applications and projects. Starting with simple instruction in basic Roman forms using pencil, participants will then adapt these letters using a broad-edged calligraphy pen. Whether you’re new to calligraphy or have some prior experience, this class will offer many new possibilities to create your own birthday cards, envelopes and many other creative projects with these simple yet fun letters!
