Course Description

Prepare for the ATI Test of Essential Academic Skills (ATI TEAS®), intended for use primarily with adult health science program applicants to measure entry-level academic readiness of health science program applicants. In this class, Sylvan Learning Center experts will review key topics—reading, math, science, and English—and share test-taking strategies to help boost your score and build confidence.

The TEAS® test is used for admission to Harper College in the Nursing (RN), Practical Nursing Certificate, Dental Hygiene, Diagnostic Cardiac Sonography, Diagnostic Medical Sonography, Physical Therapist Assistant, and Radiologic Technology programs. Program admission requirements are subject to change.

The TEAS® test is a computer-based test that contains four sections:

  1. The Reading section assesses key ideas & details, craft & structure, and integration of knowledge and ideas.
  2. The Math section measures mathematical problem solving, including algebra, measurement, and data.
  3. The Science section tests knowledge in biology, human anatomy and physiology, chemistry, and scientific reasoning.
  4. The English & Language Usage section tests knowledge in conventions of standard English, knowledge of language, and vocabulary acquisition.
