Testimonials
"Before meeting Roxanne, I didn’t have a clue on promotion and advertising of my books on Amazon Kindle. After only a few sessions under Roxanne’s tutorship beginning this past February, she has turned a floundering project into a hopeful literary endeavor that has quickly made me over $400 in revenue as of this date. Not only does Roxanne possess the technical know-how, she is a kind and patient teacher who can offer easy to understand guidance to even those of us who are computer illiterate." T. D.
"This class was incredibly valuable to educate me on what is recommended beyond self-publishing a book. The critical steps needed to build an online presence and boost sales through advertising strategy were covered. Tips and techniques shared with class attendees will allow us to utilize this information to market our books after publishing. I appreciate the knowledge gained and know it will make the process go more smoothly." C. S.
I recently completed the course How to Self-Publish – On Demand at Harper College. I had a novel I had worked on for years and had no clue or direction on how to get it published or where to start. Then, I fortunately saw the course offering from instructor Roxanne Boersma.
After reading her biography and seeing the many books she had published as part of the Shepherd Security series, I felt confident that this was the right move for me. I was not disappointed. Her on-line class was detailed and very informative. It contained all the information about the publishing business and helped me learn not only how to get a book published, but also how to get it completed the right, professional way. The class instructed about self-publishing scams, one of which I was almost caught in, and how to choose the right process. Her experience in the business was vital. I gained insights into proper editing, book cover design, and advertising – everything I needed.
In addition, after I completed the class work, Roxanne was invaluable as a consultant who spent a great deal of time with me and was extremely patient in answering my questions and pointing me in the right direction. I am excited beyond words to see my work in print and so thankful to Roxanne Boersma for helping to make my dream come true.
Roxanne Boersma has successfully self-published sixteen books under three pen names in the last five years, fourteen of which have ranked on Amazon’s Top 100 Best Seller Lists (two of them reaching #1). In support of her books, she has created three author identities complete with website, author email address, author newsletters, and Facebook pages, as well as launching several highly-successful advertising campaigns. Roxanne designs her own book covers and publishes her books in both eBook and in paperback form. In addition to teaching self-publishing at Harper College and two other local colleges, Roxanne works one-on-one with authors as a consultant.
