Course Description

Provides training for licensed RN’s in Illinois to teach the Basic Nursing Assistant Training Program, including Alzheimer’s portion of the curriculum. Completing the Evaluator Workshop portion of the course will qualify participants to test manual skills in the Basic Nursing Assistant Training Program.

Prerequisites

Participants must hold a current Illinois RN license, have a minimum of two years nursing experience and at least one year of RN experience (defined as providing direct care for the elderly in a nursing home or certified skilled unit of a hospital or teaching theory in an accredited nursing program). It is highly recommended to email an up-to-date resume to Ross (Randy) Carey-Walden, IDPH Education & Training Unit, (dph.bnatp@illinois.gov) requesting a determination of eligibility prior to beginning the course. BNATP instructor approval by IDPH is not automatic with completion of this training program
