Course Description
This class provides the instruction to begin shaping clay on an electric wheel. Although this is the most challenging technique to master, it can be gratifying and fun. Weekly demonstrations and instructor interaction will help you develop and strengthen the skills needed for success. Experienced students will also benefit from instructor assistance and are encouraged to pursue their interests and projects.

Please note that some course materials may include R-rated or mature content intended for educational and artistic analysis; enrollment is open to students aged 16 and older with parental consent.

• Potter’s Rib—RB2
• Steel Scraper—S4
• Wood Modeling Tool—WT6
• Needle Tool—PRO
• Ribbon Tool—8R2
• Loop Tool—LT5
• Sponge—SPR
• Wire Clay Cutter—K35
• Apron highly suggested (help protect your clothes)
• Hand towel
• Lock
• Small 1 gallon bucket
• set of inexpensive brushes
• small notebook or sketchbook & a pen
Additional supply items needed:
• Wheel pins: optional. Purchase from your instructor for $1 per pair.
All other supplies (such as clay and glaze) are provided in class at no additional charge.

Occasionally, Continuing Education courses are cancelled due to low enrollment. Cancellation decisions are made three (3) days in advance of the start date of the course. We highly recommend that you do not purchase supplies and/or textbooks until you are sure that the class has not been cancelled.
