Course Description

In this session, we examine the people who helped turn Chicago into a corrupt, crime-soaked city during the early twentieth century. We begin with William J. Davis, whose deadly cost-cutting killed over 600 theatergoers, then explore mob pioneer James Colosimo, Big Jim Thompson, and figures Dean O’Banion, Al Capone, and John Dillinger, in this installment of Jerks in Chicago History.
