Course Description

A great deal of attention is given to heat stress and outdoor workers; it is important to recognize that industries involved with molten metals,  ovens, and operations such as welding, brazing also expose workers to the hazards of heat stress.  In this course, you will learn how to recognize, evaluate and control sources of heat stress, in addition to signs and symptoms of heat stress.  We will also review available instrumentation to measure heat stress levels and discuss various means to control heat.

  • Identify risk factors for internal heat stress and special precautions necessary when working with molten metals, ovens, and operations such as welding
