Course Description

Every year, dozens of workers die and thousands more become ill while working in hot or humid or excessively cold conditions. To prevent illness, and potential fatalities, you will learn about temperature extremes, their sources, signs and symptoms of heat or cold stress and best practices for avoiding illness. In this course, you will learn how to recognize, evaluate and control heat/cold conditions, both indoor and outdoor.  You will learn about available instrumentation to measure heat stress levels and discuss various means to control heat/cold to attain safe workplace environments.
