Course Description

Time is an observed phenomena by which humans are able to sense and record changes in the environment and in the universe.  Time is a practical convenience in modern life.  Time is the ticking of a clock, a mechanism used to calculate the ongoing passage of time in seconds, minutes, hours, days, and years.  We measure time, we keep time, and greet time in our daily lives and are completely wrapped around the onward, forward rush of time and its passing.  Historically, the first people to counted and measured the passing of time were the ancient Sumerians of Mesopotamia, some 3,000 years ago. They elected to use the number 12, and its numerical divisors, for that purpose.  In today’s world even GPS is measured by the number 12.
