Course Description
Who did George Washington describe as “A gentleman in whom I place the most entire confidence”? Who was Abraham Lincoln referring to when he said "If General..... does not want to use the army, I would like to borrow it for a time"? Woodrow Wilson bypassed many other generals to name who as the leader of the American Expeditionary Force in WWI? We will talk about military success (or failure) but we will also examine how these men maneuvered through (or tripped over) domestic politics.
