You're Invited: July 8th - Historic 250th Anniversary Reading of the Declaration of Independence

Be part of history as Harper College’s Political Science and History Departments proudly co-host “Sharing the Spirit of America,” a nationwide celebration marking the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.

On July 8 at 5:00 PM, at the Outdoor Pavilion, our community will join hundreds of others across the country and beyond in reading this revolutionary document together, echoing the first public reading in 1776.

Experience the power of these enduring words, connect with fellow community members, and reflect on the ideals that continue to shape our nation. Whether you participate in the reading or simply take in the moment, this is a unique opportunity to commemorate America’s founding in a meaningful, shared way.

Patriotic music will be provided by members of Harper College's Back Porch Revue

All are welcome. Bring your voice, your curiosity, and your spirit of civic pride.

In the event of rain, the event will be moved indoors to Building D, near the Starbucks.
