Take your pick or read both. For many, the automobile symbolizes freedom and the liberty to choose when and where we go. This was not the case for many Americans as the color of their skin robbed them of such autonomy, no pun intended. Learn about the ways in which ‘travelling while Black’ impacted the economic, political, and social history of the United States.
