Course Description

Dr. Suzuki developed a unique approach based on his genuine belief that musical ability is not an inborn talent but an ability that can be developed. Any adequately trained child can develop musical ability, just as all children develop the ability to speak their mother tongue. Therefore, the potential of every child is unlimited. The method will use the child’s listening ability, motivation, repetition, and step by step mastery to enhance students’ musicality and technique. The Suzuki method violin group class is open to all ages studying violin. It offers an excellent platform for encouraging young and new musicians to improve their musicianship while making new friends. Instructed by Dr. Chia-Ying Hsu, the ensemble performs an original Suzuki repertoire. The program is energetic, diverse, and focuses on a collaborative atmosphere that emphasizes teamwork. The Suzuki Method Class performs at Harper College’s Performing Arts Center. Beginners are especially welcome.
