This class is designed for any skill level who would like a better understanding of texture, treatment, light, and shade. We will be using multimedia including acrylics, watercolor brush markers, and pen in this class. Students will pick their favorite building or Historical landmarks, whatever your desire as an outdoor scenery. We will be outlining a building by either tracing the image or freehand drawing of your choice, painting with Acrylics and watercolor markers, and then put in details with a pen. You will get to take home at least 2 complete painting if every painting is done within 3 classes.
Watercolor markers - Recommended brands: Staedtler Double Ended Watercolor Brush Markers, Winsor & Newton Water Color Brush Markers, or any store brand quality dual-ended watercolor markers, Acrylic ink or Acrylic paints Micron pen (if you need to use a pen), watercolor brushes, and acrylic brushes variety pack.
Brush type: You can buy a variety pack student grade brushes from any Art store, or professional sable brushes, squirrel hairbrush, goat hair whatever your budget allows. (Be aware when buying brushes, the identification label for each medium) - Recommended brands: Winsor & Newton, Galeria, Royal, and Langnickel, Or any good quality Arts and crafts store brand to keep your cost lower. Quantity at least: 1 Flat, 1Round, 1 Filbert, 1 detailing, you can also buy a set of brushes that come with different shapes and thicknesses.
Paper: Bristol smooth surface at least 100lbs, multimedia paper or thick watercolor paper 9x12 size
Palettes or mixing tray. Rag for cleaning brushes. Two plastic cups for water. Apron. Graphite Pencil Series HB for tracing, and one graphite transfer sheet and Eraser.

While you learn the fundamentals of painting with Acrylics, watercolor markers, and pen, you will be creatively challenged to develop your skills. The instructor uses an individualized approach to teaching which stresses the demonstration and practice of the techniques needed to achieve your desired result. Some understanding of drawing and painting is required.
