Learn new chord progressions and continue to play songs and learn new ones. Song repertoires will range from traditional Hawaiian, to jazz, Tin Pan Alley, folk, rock, and pop. You’ll explore different strumming styles and common chords and keys and you’ll be encouraged to sing along. If you are self-taught or have prior experience on another instrument, e.g. guitar, banjo, mandolin, you may start with this class. If you are new to music classes or musical instruments, you may want to consider taking UKULELE 1 or UKULELE PLEASURE before taking UKULELE 2.
Our ukulele program is designed for every level player. The instruments sounds great if you’re playing it by yourself or in a group setting and it’s versatile, accessible, fun, easy and friendly. Whether a complete beginner, self-taught, or advanced, we will help you improve your abilities through traditional learning Hawaiian songs, your own favorites, in addition to other styles ranging from folk, Tin Pan Alley, rock, to pop. The program consists of three foundation courses: INTRODUCTION TO UKULELE, UKULELE 1, and UKULELE 2. As you move through these classes you’ll progressively add more chords progressions and technique and you can apply those skills in our UKULELE SONG REPERTOIRE AND ENSEMBLE, which is open to all levels. With the ensemble, you’ll add more songs to your song-list, build artistry and refine your performance skills and musicianship.
