Course Description

The greatest hero of the era after his epic solo flight across the Atlantic in 1927, Charles Lindbergh also fell the farthest. As related by author, Jerome M. O'Connor, follow Lindbergh's career through rare images, from marriage to Anne Morrow, the kidnapping and murder of their baby, to their withdrawal from American life in Europe. As titular leader of the America First movement he preached isolationism, and was scorned for accepting a major Nazi award. As in a Greek tragedy Lindbergh also redeemed himself by secretly flying war missions and by his early leadership in the environmental movement.
