Course Description

Historic Florence is known as the City of Flowers, with it's wide open Piazza della Signoria, the Piazza Duomo and the Baptistery with its famous bronze doors, the Pitti Palace, the Arno River and the famous Ponto Vecchio, the beautiful Boboli Gardens, all are a party of this city where the Renaissance was born.

The most famous patrons of the arts at that time were the Medici Family, and its most well-known artists include Michelangelo, Brunelleschi, Fra Angelico, Donatello, Ghiberti, Masaccio, and Sandro Botticelli. Its world class Art Museum is the Uffizi.
