Did you know that 8% of slips, trips, and falls are fatal? According to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), they are also the leading cause of accidents on the job. Begin protecting your workforce by joining our interactive class lead by an OSHA Outreach Trainer to learn how to recognize risk factors, evaluate and control slip, trip and fall hazards. Workers, managers, and supervisors are encouraged to attend.

 

 

Course Outline

  1. Identify the impact of slips, trips and falls in your workplace.
  2. Distinguish the various types of slips, trips, and falls.
  3. Know the OSHA rule, regulations and other industry standards relating to slips, trips, and falls.
  4. Recognize the slips, trips and falls hazards at your workplace.
  5. Conduct a baseline slip, trip, and fall evaluation of your workplace.
  6. Select controls for your organization relating to slips, trips, and falls.
  7. Identify actions you can take to prevent slips, trips and falls when you return to your job. 

Learner Outcomes

  • Identify the impact of slips, trips and falls in the workplace.
  • Know key slip, trip, and fall terminology.
  • Recognize OSHA Rules and regulations and other standards relating to slips, trips, and falls.
  • State the three (3) components of effective slip, trip and fall prevention.
  • Isolate the four (4) risk factor categories for slips, trips, and falls. 
  • Detect the key areas in an organization that contains slip, trip, and fall hazards.
  • Identify various tools you can use for identifying slip, trip and falls hazards.

Harper College is providing FREE Safety Awareness Courses to workers employed by a small business with 2-250 employees within the U.S. 

Susan Harwood Training Grants provide training and education for workers and employers on workplace safety and health hazards, responsibilities and rights.

  • Courses will be highly interactive and taught by experienced safety professionals and Occupational Safety and Health Outreach Trainers.  
  • Participants will receive class material and electronic badge and certificate for completing the entire course.

Government employees are ineligible to participate due to grant regulations (Local/City/Municipality, County, State or Federal).
