Course Description

Introduces students to multiple aspects of German culture and civilization from the 20th century to today. Familiarizes students with history, political institutions, economic development, literature, art and culture of Germany. Gives students an overview of the German-speaking regions of Austria, Switzerland and Liechtenstein. 

Synchronous, real time interactive, sessions with the instructor are expected. These sessions will be recorded and made available as needed. You must have access to a computer with reliable Internet access, web cam, a good microphone, and have basic computer skills to successfully complete this course. There are no prerequisites for this course.

Knowledge of the German language is not required since the course is taught in English.
