Course Description

This course is designed to help students further their appreciation for music. The course will discuss how music is created, and how it has been used as a creative tool of expression, imagination, and entertainment. Students will advance their listening skills and will actively engage in discussions which leads to a better understand of what music actually contains. The course will explore western musical cultures from medieval time through contemporary trends, folk, popular and religious music; along with a sampling of music from non-western cultures will also be explored. Neither an ability to read music nor any other background in music is required.

Class Meets April 7th, 14th, 21st, and 28th.
