Course Description

For many Americans, the name Frederic Remington is synonymous with the realistic portrayal of our Old West. His works of both fine and commercial art are a unified effort to record a special time and a special place, with great care and enthusiasm, with colorful viral figures and the exciting saga of life against the omnipresent elements of danger and death. From his first trip to the west in 1881 until his death in 1909, Remington produced several thousand paintings and drawings cast 22 bronzes, wrote over 90 magazine articles and 8 books, and provided the illustration for hundreds of magazine articles and books.
