Course Description


In this course, the fundamentals of sound recording are explored.  Topics discussed include an overview of recording technology, session procedures, types of recording studios, microphones, equalization, plus a general study in acoustics.  The text, Modern Recording Techniques (Eighth edition) by Huber and Runstein is required and is used in each of the classes in the Sound Recording Certificate program. This is the first of three courses required to earn the certificate:

LMU0018 - Sound Recording I Introduction
LMU0020 - Sound Recording II Recording Techniques
LMU0019 - Sound Recording III Mixing and Editing Techniques
