LMU0017 - Introduction to Guitar
Course Description
This college level course is for the student that seeks a more in-depth adventure into the language of music as applied to guitar. Ideal for the ambitious pure beginner and experienced non reader, by rote player alike, this class covers Standard Music Notation reading, chord graph and chart reading, finger style and plectrum techniques. Also, it applies a guitar\ centered introduction to Fundamental music theory concepts such as intervals, triads, modes, scale building, major scales with principal chords, key signatures and key structures, chord progressions and more. There are written and playing tests to help you monitor your progress. Not to worry, this co listed, non credit course offering will not affect any GPA.
Required boo Hal Leonard Guitar Method, Book 1, second edition, by Schmid and Koch.
