Course DescriptionRiders with previous experience operating motorcycles who are returning to motorcycling, who have been riding for some time without obtaining an endorsement, who have recently participated in a motorcycle class and would like more practice, or who have ridden off-road and want to transition to street riding should take this course. You will receive an overview of the fundamentals of safe, responsible motorcycling and the opportunity to renew and learn skills and acquire knowledge important for successful and safe street operation of motorcycles. Motorcycles, helmets, and textbooks are provided. You must provide a long-sleeved shirt or jacket, long pants (heavy material with straight legs), sturdy over-the-ankle footwear (not cloth or canvas), full-fingered gloves, and eye protection (glasses, goggles or face shield). Upon successful completion of the Intermediate course, the Illinois Secretary of State drivers license examiner will waive the written and the riding portion of the motorcycle license test for those aged 18 or older.
