Course Description

Prepare for the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) exam through a blend of online and classroom sessions in this 50-hour course. Prepare to work under a registered pharmacist in a variety of settings as you learn medical/pharmacy terminology, dosage calculations, I.V. flow rates, drug compounding, dose conversions, prescription dispensing, inventory control, billing, and reimbursement. Students are eligible for an 80-hour clinical externship (background check/drug screening may be required). Textbook and materials are included. Approved for funding by the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act for qualified WIOA candidates, under O*Net code 29.2052. Must be 18 years of age at time of enrollment.
