If you have recently completed Conversational Level III or Accelerated Level II at Harper College, join the Discusion En Espanol course, In this eight week course, the presence of the teacher will ensure that you are correctly using what you have learned and will help you gain additional knowledge into the cultural aspects of the people and countries that use Spanish. Born in Cuba, in the cosmopolitan city of pre-revolution Havana, came with parents and siblings to the U.S. in 1963 with the diplomatic aide of the Swiss Government in that country. With a deep interest in languages and world cultures stemming from an early age, my university studies have focused in linguistic anthropology, comparative and social linguistics, and language reconstruction delving into the theoretical quest for “proto-language.” A native speaker of Spanish, have also studied French and continue to learn other languages, such as Romanian and Italian. Another interest has been the sport of Olympic style fencing, in which National ranking and classifications are held, and still compete at the highest levels of competitions in the sport.
